How do I load powder detergent on a front end washing machine?

I have tide powdered detergent but the washing machine in my dorm is a front loader machine so do I still put the detergent straight on the clothes or do i put the powdered detergent in the front end loader thing?

    I put powdered detergent in the loader once and the washing went fine. I’m not sure why we shouldn’t put it on the clothes, but if the washing machine requires detergent to be poured into the loader I think we should follow this instruction for good results. That’s how the machine works. :)

    Most of the new front loading washers require a special detergent, usually designated as he. The new front loading machines use very little water, so if you use a detergent other than the specified he on the newer machines you will definately have problems. The frontloading machines today are usually expensive and I wouldn’t take a chance on causing problems such as a possible leak by using the wrong detergent. If the powder you have is designated he, you should consult your user manual or the manufacturers website to make sure you can use powdered detergent.
